The Mystery of the Killed Rat

It didn't die from a cat because there wasn't any blood and it wasn't bitten. We made the box to put the rat in there. By Jacob

We think it was poisoned. We didn't touch it because we didn't want to get poisoned. By Beau

First, I thought it was sleeping because it just lying down. I think I saw it breathe and its belly went up and down. It wasn't bitten, so we knew that it was poisoned. Its tail was as big as the whole school. It had straight lines on its tail and it was gross. We made a coffin out of a cardboard cookie holder and we put in long grass and leaves to make it kind of soft. I don't like rats! They are cheese stealers! By Tobias-John

  2. Kia Ora Rongo-mā-tāne,
I like that you added pictures to the blog.
Did you think about the fact that not all viewers would like seeing a dead rat.
Maybe next time You could explain why the rat was in a hoola hoop.
Where did you find the rat?
    Kind Regards Leandri

  3. Kia Ora Rongo-ma-tane,
I like how you added pictures of the rat.
I hate rats too, last time I saw a rat was last year.
Maybe next time you could say at the start, Hi I found this dead rat in ... wherever you found it instead of going straight into it.
    Kind regards Abby

  4. KIA ORA Rongo ma tane,
    I'm Kaylee from Tawhirimatea.
I love rats. In fact I used to have 4 pet rats.
I like the fact that you put in photos of what your talking about. I also like that you told the reader YOUR expectations of what happened. Next time you could explain why it was in the hoola hoop. Did you find it at the little playground outside of your class? Kind Regards Kaylee.

  5. Hi Rongo-Ma-Tane!
It was nice that you made a little coffin for the rat!
It is sad that the rat died. But you are great detectives! You said that the rat was poisoned and I think you are correct!
I think the rat is now happy in his own little box!
    Great job Rongo-Ma-Tane!
